Treatment for Osteoarthritis

Author: Active-Support

Osteoarthritis is one medical condition that has no proven cure; it can only be treated to minimize if not eradicate symptoms. Osteoarthritis treatment should be initiated as soon as possible. This will not only provide comfort to the patient; it will also reduce possible long term damage. The aim is always to reduce pain and allow greater mobility. Newer medication continues to be developed but still, one that can actually cure is illusive.

Exercise and education are important factors in the management of osteoarthritis. There are also physical interventions that can reduce pain and improve mobility. Manual therapy has been found to be effective. This includes massage therapy and joint mobilization. For OA in the hands, splinting has been found to result in improvement after some time.

Dancing with a Knee Brace

Author: admin

If you like to dance and you have knee pain, then this information may interest you.  Whether you dance competitively or not, your knee pain or instability issues can really hold you back. Some home remedies have helped people in the past to deal with knee pain but none of them perform like a knee brace.

Some people think of a knee brace and say that they need to be big and bulky to be supportive, or a knee brace won’t allow a full range of movement.   Although these thoughts are common, people do not realize that knee supports do not have to be big and bulky to be supportive, nor do they have to be heavy and cumbersome to really be effective. These ideas are misconceptions. With all the improvements in bracing these days, people can often times move extremely well with a brace.
